Little Ditty Bag
I began working on a little ditty stash bag. I'm using one if my favorite skeins that I have been saving for seven years...

"It's art. It's colonialism, and you'll never get it!"
I painted a Kluneberg knock-off for a friend of mine. I don't have any progress shots because I worked on it nonstop for about an hour and a half and forgot to take breaks.

Spaghett!
I made this hair clip today.
The clay needs to bake tomorrow, but otherwise, it's done. The clip only took about three hours to make:
I used a blue bandana and some batting for the bow. Some embroidery floss and hot glue holds the whole thing together.
Back. I used a metal hair clip and wrapped a strip of blue fabric around the two fabric triangles and secured it all with a bit of hot glue.
This thing hurts my hands and is not easy to press. I think that pressing the noodles took an hour alone.
Everything is better with balls. Meat balls.

almost done, just in time for cinco de cuatro!
Debating on the lettering. I am leaning towards just using "WWTD?" rather than spelling out "What Would Tobias Do?"

clouds and clouds
Okay, the rest of the clouds are at least on the canvas. I need to do some more blending and I want to deepen the blues a bit. I have yet to decide what exactly is going in the foreground and so I'm giving myself a deadline to finish this piece by Friday night. Otherwise, I'll just keep fine tuning clouds until I run out of paint.
settling on one idea
The creative process is now stalling hands that are itching to paint. Earlier, I could blame it on waiting for the background layer to dry before proceeding, but now that inner critic is starting to chatter. This is pretty much typical.
First, the blank page or canvas is somewhat intimidating and daunting. As soon as it is no longer a blank slate, a bit of fear sets in. "I like what I've done so far, what if I screw it up and ruin it somehow?"
JUST DO IT, YOU COWARD.
I'm all about positive self talk, but stern self talk is often most effective.
Progress pictures:
Wow, that light creamy color is actually taupe. And my sponge brush crumbled to pieces. Off to a great start.
I made a Pinterest board to collect my inspiration for what's to come and because I obviously need another social media platform to eventually neglect.

there. the desk is now a functional work space. what's the next excuse?
it's all there. just do it. you have like seven more canvases just like this one so who cares if you don't like the end result.
(found an art prompt generator for when even the creative mind's bones are also lazy.)

excuse no. 1: my desk is a mess.
"It'd be so fun to spread out and paint or draw something but my desk is a mess and by the time I clean it, the creative spark will surely have gone out."
well then just keep your desk clear for when the mood strikes, lazy bones. probably could have cleaned it in the time it took you to blog about it.
